EU and U.S. prepare to resume free trade negotiations

Officials from the EU and the U.S. are poised to meet next week in Brussels to discuss a free trade deal, after meetings scheduled for early October were postponed because of the U.S. government shutdown. "This round of negotiations will now put the [Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership] discussion process fully back on track in terms of the planned negotiation timeline," the European Commission said.
