Ideas for using AR tools in the classroom

Using augmented reality to add digital information to real objects that are scanned by a smartphone offers students new ways to create and interact with their learning environment, fifth-grade teacher Todd Nesloney and elementary educator Drew Minock write in this blog post. For the classroom, the two suggest using the open source AR application Aurasma for linking such things as video instructions to homework pages, student reviews to books and sign-language videos to vocabulary flash cards.
