Institute works on graphene-based terahertz lasers

Scientists at the Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter in Hamburg, Germany, say they have completed two of the three steps necessary to make a terahertz laser with graphene. The last step is development of a laser cavity. A graphene-based terahertz laser would be useful in probing high-temperature superconductors, according to the scientists.
