Let Medicare secure better Rx drug prices

Aside from doing more for Medicare Part D beneficiaries, Congress should also allow Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices to save taxpayers' money, Medicare Rights Center President Joe Baker writes. Changes to Part D should be judged on how they serve beneficiaries who fall into the doughnut hole as they face more than $3,000 in yearly out-of-pocket costs, he writes. The proposed Medicare Drug Savings Act and the Medicare Prescription Drug Savings and Choice Act would help, he writes.
