Outside tech experts are making progress on HealthCare.gov fixes

Dozens of outside technology workers have been recruited by the CMS to fix the problems plaguing the HealthCare.gov website and to decrease page upload times. Jeffrey Zients, who is overseeing the website work, says page response times have been reduced from eight seconds during the launch to less than one second, and he predicts that the team will be able to meet the CMS deadline of having the website operating smoothly by the end of the month. The tech team working on the site has been divided into groups whose jobs include speeding up the website, adding capacity, troubleshooting and focusing on security.
