Survey: Pediatric palliative care services vary by hospital

About two-thirds of 162 hospitals surveyed reported having pediatric palliative care programs but only 11.6% had dedicated beds or a palliative care suite, researchers from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia reported in the journal Pediatrics. Most units offered only inpatient services but 29.5% offered home visits, 18.8% had an outpatient clinic and 10.7% provided home-based care.
