Women with diabetes show higher CAD rate in review

A review of three major studies that looked at 11,000 patients younger than 60 who had coronary artery disease showed that the rate of coronary artery disease was four to five times higher in women with diabetes compared with their healthier peers. However, diabetes had little or no impact on cardiovascular disease risk in men, researchers reported in Diabetes Care.
