Edison Offers To Bus Skeptics To School Sites In Nearby Cities

Edison Schools Inc., the for-profit company vying to assume management of the Philadelphia school system, is organizing bus trips to schools it runs in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Chester Upland, Pa., in an effort to prove to skeptics that its management creates positive results. Supporters of the Philadelphia schools have voiced strong opposition to the Edison takeover plan, which would go into effect if the state takes over the district Nov. 30.
