Virtual High School Begins Charging For Service

The initial $7.4 million federal grant for the Virtual High School (VHS) initiative is running out, and the nonprofit organization that administers the program will begin charging a $6,000 school membership fee per online course. Last year, VHS offered 155 course at 300 schools; but with the new fee, 137 courses will be offered in 112 schools this year.
