EADS' net profit soars from strong Airbus performance

European defense firm EADS reported a dramatic increase in net profit for the first nine months of 2004 to approximately $771 million. Airbus' increase in aircraft deliveries -- which rose to 224 during the period, 25 more than the same period last year -- contributed to the defense firm's strong performance.
