Carlson Companies goes to plan B in search for new CEO

With the departure of heir apparent Curtis Carlson Nelson, the Carlson Companies will be looking for a nonfamily member to step into the CEO's shoes. In the meantime, the company has released a statement that Marilyn Carlson Nelson will continue on as CEO until the "best candidate" is identified. Carlson, which includes the Radisson, Regent and Country Inns & Suites hotel chains, Regent Seven Seas cruises, Carlson Marketing Worldwide and T.G.I. Friday's restaurant group, will celebrate its 70th anniversary early next year.
