Firms fight equipment theft with GPS tracker system

With construction theft at U.S. construction sites costing between $300 million and $1 billion annually, companies are increasingly turning to a security system that signals an alarm during thefts and then uses GPS to track the whereabouts of stolen goods. The MobileLock GPS locator costs about $500 per unit and access to the Web site tracking service starts at about $20 per month, but for companies trying to prevent theft of thousands of dollars worth of equipment, the benefits may be worth the investment.
