Report: Consumers may not need extended LCD, plasma warranties

A new report has found that LCD and plasma TVs require minimal repairs during the first three years, suggesting that consumers may not need extended warranties from retailers. The Consumer Reports' study found that flat-panel TVs had an overall repair rate of 3%, while rear-projection models experienced a higher rate of repair occurrences.
