Study: Gardasil also works in older women

Cervical cancer vaccine Gardasil not only protects girls ages 9 to 26, but may also be effective in women up to 45 years old, a study sponsored by Merck & Co. revealed. The vaccine was able to prevent 91% of ailments caused by four strains of the sexually transmitted human papillomavirus, according to results from a trial involving 3,800 women ages 24 to 45.
