Skyscrapers can be environment-friendly and bird-friendly

Environmentalists and animal-lovers have railed against the use of lights on the spires of skyscrapers, saying they are wasteful and can kill birds. But skyscraper experts say such lights can be used responsibly, for instance by incorporating LEDs while turning the rest of the building's lights off and by keeping spire lights dim so they do not attract birds.
