House may delay vote on health care reform bill

President Barack Obama is scheduled to make a personal appeal to Democrats today in advance of the scheduled House vote on health care reform. The American Medical Association on Thursday endorsed the measure. As it stands, the House bill provides health insurance for 96% of Americans, allows small-business owners to obtain coverage through exchanges, creates a government-run insurance program, requires businesses to insure employees or pay a penalty, and prohibits insurers from denying coverage for pre-existing conditions.
