AAR: Rail traffic increase continued in final week of October

Traffic on the nation's freight railroads continues to show gains compared with prior-year levels. Carloads climbed 6.3% in the week ended Oct. 30, according to the Association of American Railroads. Metallic ores, sand and gravel help propel the gains. Intermodal traffic, meanwhile, increased 14.2%.
