Acupuncture treatment could offer hope for pets with slipped disk

Electroacupuncture can provide a less expensive and nonsurgical alternative for pets suffering from slipped disk, according to this article, which cites a study published in the JAVMA. According to the study, electroacupuncture therapy proved helpful in treating dogs with intervertebral disk disease. Owners, however, are advised to first consult a veterinarian before enlisting a veterinary acupuncturist, this article notes.
