IOM calls for healthier food in child, adult day care

An Institute of Medicine report said government-sponsored food programs for children and adults in day care facilities should offer healthier foods, including more fruits and vegetables and items with less fat, salt and sugar. Committee members noted, however, that providing more nutritious food could increase costs by up to 44% just for children.
