Positive economic data lead the BoE to maintain rates

As expected, the Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee has left interest rates on hold and decided against more quantitative easing. The decision comes as economic data in the U.K. become more positive. Committee members had discussed concerns about the economic recovery at their October meeting and made quantitative easing a possibility, according to meeting minutes.
