It requires quite different management skills to run a small business than to work in corporate America, writes Kimberly Fowler, who finds that her corporate persona as "The General" wasn't nearly as effective in her own business. She says she learned to listen to her employees and to make them brand ambassadors by giving them free clothing. She also created a reward system for her best team members.
