Stores go from cavernous to cozy

Retailers including Office Depot, which recently scaled down the selling floor of its 16-year-old store in Green Bay, Wis., are moving to smaller store formats. The changes come in response to customer preferences and as a way to move into urban markets where space is at a premium.
