Freight railroads and pipelines are both efficient and safe options for North American crude-oil shipments as production continues at a rapid pace, write Edward Hamberger, CEO and president of the Association of American Railroads, and Andrew Black, president and CEO of the Association of Oil Pipelines. Hamberger and Black discuss the importance of rail and pipelines to the oil market, and contend that despite competition, "both modes will continue to work hard to meet our crude oil transportation needs safely and reliably."
