Analysis: Democrats could kill sequester, raise taxes

Democrats have stronger leverage than they might realize in the upcoming budget negotiations, and they may be able to both halt sequestration and raises taxes at the same time, argues this analysis. Because of the way the sequester was structured, next year the brunt of sequestration cuts will fall on defense spending, and standing by the sequester could cost Republicans a great deal of political capital in that scenario, writes columnist Timothy Noah.
