Emory tests technology to consolidate, analyze ICU data

Emory University Hospital is testing bedside monitor technology from Excel Medical Electronics paired with IBM's InfoSphere Streams software in an attempt consolidate and analyze heart and lung data gathered on ICU patients. Dr. Tim Buchman, director of the Emory Center for Critical Care, said the project is in the early stages but the goal is to use the analysis to provide an overview of a patient's condition and glean clues about future health risks.
