Ingredion, the product of the Corn Products International and National Starch merger, is trying to position itself for a more health-focused consumer. Sweeteners still accounted for 44% of sales in 2012, but that was down from 57% in 2007. Some of the new products include starches that replace oils in salad dressing. "It's really all about delivering ingredients that make food taste good, creamy, healthy, depending on the trend," said Ilene Gordon, Ingredion CEO.
