Flush with spectrum in some areas, T-Mobile US has doubled down on its Long-Term Evolution networks in 40 of the largest 50 markets. By deploying 20 MHz of Advanced Wireless Spectrum, the carrier has doubled its 4G speeds, CEO John Legere revealed Tuesday after reporting earnings. Moreover, T-Mobile will double up its capacity -- to 40 MHz -- next year in a minimum of 22 of the top 25 cities. T-Mobile accrued the spectrum as a consolation prize from a failed acquisition attempt by AT&T and its merger with MetroPCS.
