Laptops losing their luster in tight budget times

Although school districts enthusiastically embraced the use of laptops when budgets were flush, many now worry they cannot afford to sustain the initiatives. Dwindling state funding is forcing districts in Michigan, South Carolina and Washington to pare down or opt out of laptop programs.
