HD Radio pushes holiday sales and radio ads

U.S. radio operators, gearing up for a new phase of their $200 million marketing push for HD Digital Radio, plan to air about 75,000 ads a week and will sell the radios at Circuit City, to generate sales during the holiday season. The radio industry also will cut prices on some automotive units to as low as about $150, in an effort to compete with satellite radio and iPods.
