Delta and Northwest align, update fee policies

The largest airline in the world, Delta Air Lines has become the last of the six legacy carriers to impose a fee for passengers to check their first piece of luggage. As Delta and Northwest Airlines complete their merger, they are aligning their fee policies. Delta said that starting Dec. 5, passengers flying domestically will face a $15 fee for the first checked bag and $25 for the second. The carriers have also eliminated fuel surcharges on free tickets obtained using frequent-flier miles.
