Top teacher helps students engage in scientific research

Arizona high school teacher Margaret Wilch, who recently was honored with the Arizona Bioindustry Association's Bioscience Educator of the Year Award, prepares her students for careers in biotechnology with a hands-on program that gives them experience working in university labs. "I don't think anyone goes into science to read textbooks," she said. "Science should be fun and intellectually and creatively engaging."
