Treasury looking for ways to expand reach of TARP

The Treasury Department is "actively considering" additional ways to apply the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program passed last month. In a report to Congress, Treasury said it wants to find additional ways to "strengthen financial institutions, restore the flow of lending, and address the many challenges to our financial markets posed by the ongoing housing correction."
