Calif. Senate panel may create bill on sweetened soft drinks

A California Senate committee held a hearing on sugar-sweetened soft drinks as part of its plans to introduce a proposal geared toward curbing the consumption of the beverages to address the growing problem of obesity. Officials from Coca-Cola and the American Beverage Association were among those who testified in the hearing.
