New carbon-capture facility draws international attention

A new facility at American Electric Power's Mountaineer Power Plant in West Virginia can utilize carbon dioxide sequestration technology on an unprecedented scale. The coal-fired plant can capture and store approximately 100,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year -- about 90% of what it produces through its chilled ammonia process.
