Parents a factor in antibiotic overuse among children

Parents who don't have a good understanding of antibiotics and those that pressure clinicians to prescribe them for their children contribute to overuse of the medications, Italian researchers reported. They said another reason for antibiotic overprescription was a tendency for parents to seek medical care for children with very minor infections, such as a cold.
