Take a sabbatical on the way to work

Few executives can take months-long sabbaticals, but everyone needs a moment to recharge. Gina Trapani suggests using your commute time to reflect on the ideas you brainstorm. "Watching the world pass by a train window or driving down the freeway is a perfect opportunity to give your brain time to turn over ideas," she writes, adding that going to the gym or being outdoors can also give the mind some much-needed relaxation.
