Eastern states could give early read on election winner

Election-watchers might not have to stay up late to find out the next occupant of the White House, because three key eastern states will close their polls by 8 p.m. If Florida, Virginia and Ohio all go to one candidate or the other, it will be extremely hard for the opponent to make up the difference as the country's attention turns to late-closing western states.
