Appeal case scheduled for Ky. liquor-sales law

The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is scheduled to hear a case brought by the Kentucky Alcoholic Beverage Control Department this month to review a 70-year-old ban on the sale of wine and liquor in grocery stores, gas stations and other retailers. A U.S. District Court judge previously ruled against the department, finding that the ban was unconstitutional under the equal-protection clause.
