Calif. county considers freeze on utility-scale renewables projects

The supervisors of Solano County, Calif., are considering whether to impose a 45-day freeze on utility-scale renewable-energy projects to give Travis Air Force Base enough time to study potential wind turbine restrictions near a new training zone. The other options for the county are to study applications on a case-by-case basis, consult with the state Airport Land Use Commission for temporary measures or maintain the status quo until a proposal for a major project is made, staff said.
