Dealer requests EPA audit as part of green marketing strategy

An equipment dealer in Carbondale, Ill., boosted his green credentials by requesting an audit from the state Environmental Protection Agency through its "no fault, no fine" program. After the audit, Dean Davis of Dogwood Fireplace & Lawn was able to display his certificate of compliance on the shop floor, while using green practices to save money in the long run. "It will enhance our industry's reputation if more dealers go green," Davis said.
