How one school district successfully uses Facebook

Having a strong social media presence not only is an effective communication tool for school districts, but it has become an expectation, writes John Skretta, superintendent of the Norris School District in Firth, Neb. In this commentary, Skretta suggests districts use Facebook to replace paper notices and to post important links; keep posts positive; respond to feedback on social media; and make sure social media is linked to the district website.
