Report: Europe's retail sales lost steam in Sept.

Eurozone retail sales fell in September, amid record high 12.2% unemployment and the longest recession since the 1999 creation of the euro, according to a Eurostat report released Wednesday. Retail trade volume fell 0.6% after rising 0.5% in August, the report said, with Southern European countries including Portugal and Spain seeing the biggest declines.
