Survey: Most choose independent diet, don't seek medical help

As many as 70% of Americans who are trying to lose weight use their own diet plans and do not seek a medical provider's help, according to a new survey. The survey also showed one-third of dieters have turned to supplements in pill or powder form that have no proven ability to burn fat or boost metabolism.
