Juvenile-hall educator among five California teachers of the year

Tamara Reina, who teaches English and history to students in a juvenile detention facility, is one of five California educators to be named statewide teachers of the year. "I think first of all it [the award] acknowledges that positive proactive education can go on anywhere," Reina said.
