Study: Colonoscopy can help determine higher risk of advanced tumors

A new study shows colonoscopies can be useful in predicting the development of advanced tumors. The analysis focused on 1,171 subjects with growths at the initial colonoscopy and 501 subjects without growths. After five years, 7.4% of patients with growths in the initial tests were found to have advanced tumors compared with just 2.4% of those without growths at the initial tests.
