Daily vitamin D plus calcium ineffective for hypertension

Taking daily calcium plus vitamin D did not reduce blood pressure levels or lower the risk of developing hypertension among some 36,000 postmenopausal women who were given the supplements or a placebo for seven years. The researchers said the results show supplements are not a substitute for a healthy diet to control blood pressure.
