Major construction stops on Chicago Spire

Construction has stopped on the 2,000-foot Chicago Spire designed by architect Santiago Calatrava. Calatrava filed a lien against the developer, as did the architect and the structural engineering firm working with the project. The Ireland-based Shelbourne Development Group Inc. said it is working with the partners to resolve the issue. If finished, the condo tower will be the tallest building in America, housing 1,200 units.
