Marriage proponents take Proposition 8 fight to Calif. high court

Marriage-rights groups are taking the fight against Proposition 8 to the state's Supreme Court, which in May granted same-sex couples the right to marry. "Proposition 8 is a very radical and dangerous change to the principles of the California Constitution. Never before has an existing fundamental right been taken away," said Shannon Minter, legal director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights.
