Santo Domingo offers visitors plenty of areas to explore

Centuries ago, Christopher Columbus landed in what is now Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic's breezy capital, and found plenty to explore. While it may not be as untouched as it was in Columbus' day, Santo Domingo still offers its visitors plenty of reasons to wander. From historical churches to a restaurant located in a cave that once sheltered pirates, Santo Domingo is a place for adventurers.
