AVMA asks Congress for quick action on appropriations bill

AVMA urged congressional conferees in a letter last week to quickly pass the consolidated appropriations bill as well as maintain funding levels for agriculture programs outlined in the Senate version of the bill. The letter, from AVMA governmental relations division director Dr. Mark Lutschaunig, asked lawmakers to prioritize funding for inspection and food-safety programs as well as the Center for Veterinary Medicine.
